Again, I really hate to bring it up, but this space IS NOT FREE.
We never require any player to pay anything to enjoy this site - firstly, it would violate the Creative Commons License under which we operate. Secondly, it just would go against my own principles.
In spite of the fact that I have to pay to maintain this site - whatever does not come in in donations, I need to make up the difference...I do this because I love this game - even though I seldom get to play anymore - one of the hazards of starting your own business!
All that said, we DO offer many EXTRAS to players who DO donate. We can and do have certain extras available only to donating players.
Certain features exist for donating players that do not exist for other players...including better luck on Special Event Encounters.
There are also shops and areas open only to donators, and some very excellent mounts may only be bought by donating players.
Additionally, the drinks promo is still active, donating players may request a drink in the bar be named for them. They may come up with the name, and I will Create it.
Also, players, please let me know if there are other incentives you would like to see for donating players. I will do my best to implement these ideas.
I know our economy is terrible, and I REALLY HATE asking for money...but, as it is , this site is being carried by one or two generous players.
I'd like to encourage other players to donate.
Bear in mind that the extra good luck, and shops/areas...have no donation limit, they open to you with as little as a one-dollar donation. These features remain open for one entire rolling month from the time your donation is posted, so no worries about end of the month...if you donate on the 20th, you will have 30 days to enjoy the new features. They do not end on the 1st of the new month.
Also...there are additional community-wide benefits that open to ALL PLAYERS for months in which we meet our donation goal.
We have been around for nearly six years now, and our Monthly Goal has never changed, in spite of the fact that the cost for this space has increased over that time.
Again, hate to ask, because I know how tough it is out there, but, if you can find it in you to contribute a small amount to help support this site, we WILL make it worth your while.
Again, I wish to thank those players who have contributed ongoing support for this site.
Remember, this is the site that is designed by players...we take player suggestions very seriously...many of the unique features we have here originated from player suggestions. So speak up, and let us know what types of things you would like to see made available to donating players!

I hate to bring it up, because it's never fun to ask for money - especially given our terrible economy. However, the server space is not free, I have to pay for it. any time our goal is not met in a month, I must pay the difference. This is something I normally cheerfully do, however, it has been a while since we met our Goal.
I never require any player to donate in order to play, however, players should note there are certain advantages afforded players who donate (certain shops appear only to donators) also, donators have more luck with random forest events - less likely to get a negative result from a Special event.
Additionally, we seem to have a few new players. some of our older players have left the realm, and it occurs to me, many of our new players do not yet have anything named for them.
SO...for donations in the month of February, I will allow any donator to create a drink named for them which can be served in the bar - and it will replace a drink currently served in the bar named for any retired player.

It is not often that I post about things that happen in the real-life world of our players, but this, I felt, was worthy of mention and congratulations...

Recently, our player Spindrifter was honored by being inducted into the National Hall of Fame for the Izaak Walton League of America, a national conservation group.
Spindrifter has dedicated his life to nature and conservancy, and is known among his peers as the King of the Rain Barrels. He has been involved with the League longer than almost any active member can remember, and has been involved with many projects - including watershed issues, alternative energy, container gardens, and other conservation issues.
This award recognizes a lifetime of achievement and dedication to the cause of conservancy, and earns our congratulations and thanks!
